 Question No: 1 Churchill says that the examiners asked questions which the studentscould not answer and not those which they could. Do you agree with theauthor?
Answer: Yes, I agree with the author when he says that the examinersasked questions which the students could not answer and not those which theycould. It¶s because the author was among the students who could not answer the questions in the paper.
Question No: 2 Why does Churchill think Mr. Welldon considered him to be worthy topass into Harrow?
Answer: Churchill thinks Mr. Welldon is a man capable of looking beneaththe surface of the things and that¶s why considered the author to be worthy to pass into Harrow. Churchill considers Mr. Weldon a man not dependent upon paper manifestations and has the greatest regard for him.
Question No: 3 Why does the author consider his situation at Harrow as unpretentious
?
Answer: Churchill considers his situation at Harrow as unpretentious because he was almost at the bottom of whole class students¶ list. He was placed in the third, or lowest, division of the Fourth, or bottom. Thisunpretentious situation continued for nearly a year
Question No: 4 Why were Churchill and other such students not allowed to learn Latinand Greek? Answer: Churchill and other such students were not allowed to learn Latinand Greek because they were considered dull and were kept in lowest form.They were considered such dunces that they could learn only English
. Question No: 5 Why didn·t Churchill feel himself at any disadvantage as compared tothose who learnt Latin and Greek?
Answer: Churchill didn¶t feel himself at any disadvantage as compared tothose who learnt Latin and Greek. Churchill learnt English that got into bonesthe essential structure of ordinary British sentence which is a noble thing.Others who learnt Latin and Greek had to come down again to commonEnglish. This gave Churchill another advantage over others, as he was anexpert in English language.
 Question No: 6 Churchill says that he would whip those students hard who do not learnEnglish well. What do you think?
Answer: I think Churchill was right in saying he would whip those studentshard who do not learn English well. Churchill had a command and love for English language. He knew how important English language is to Englishspeakers.
